Cancer affects millions of women every year. Look Good Feel Better is Canada’s only charitable cancer program dedicated to empowering women to manage the appearance-related effects of cancer and its treatment. Created from the belief that if a woman with cancer can be helped to look good, chances are she’ll feel better, this program lifts her spirits and empowers her to face her illness with greater confidence.
At the heart of Look Good Feel Better is the free two-hour hands-on workshop offered at over 100 cancer care facilities and hospitals across the country. The workshop brings together women with cancer in a safe and supportive environment, where they benefit from shared experiences and learn how to look and feel more like themselves again.
Simple cosmetic techniques help even out skin tone, recreate lost eyebrows, define eyes, and brighten features overall. A special session on hair alternatives provides tips on how to choose, style, and care for a wig, and offers suggestions on working with hats and scarves.
 Look Good Feel Better restores confidence and helps reclaim a sense of self. Women will also learn that they are not alone on their cancer journey.
Spirited, bubbly, and energetic, while you were in Erika’s presence you didn’t see a cancer patient, rather you were captivated by her exuberance and love of life. Erika Heller was the embodiment of the Look Good Feel Better organization, representing so beautifully the importance of “feeling better” during the challenges faced when dealing with cancer.
